Dr. Yousif A-Rahim

Dr. A-Rahim has been practicing gastroenterology in Hawaii since 2003, serving predominantly Aiea and Pearl City. Between 2006 and 2015, Dr. A-Rahim pioneered and directed the development of gastrointestinal therapeutics at Pali Momi Medical Center, a hospital which is now the most sought out gastroenterology tertiary referral center in Hawaii. In 2008, Dr. A-Rahim and Dr. Darrell Lee founded Pacific Endoscopy Center, an ambulatory surgery center in Pearl City. Pacific Endoscopy Center has since grown into four centers and become the dominant provider of outpatient gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in the state.

Currently, Dr. A-Rahim practices part time in Hawaii, as he serves a vital physician-executive role as the Chief Medical Officer for Covenant Surgical Partners, Inc., a national physician services company that owns and operates 41 healthcare facilities including ambulatory surgery centers, anesthesia companies, anatomic pathology labs, and physician practices in over 20 states.

Dr. A-Rahim also practices gastroenterology part time at the VA Hospital in Boston, which serves as the tertiary inpatient medical center for the VA Boston Healthcare System. In addition to clinical and executive responsibilities, Dr. A-Rahim is also a Lecturer in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. A-Rahim earned his medical and doctorate degrees from the Pennsylvania State University and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. As a physician, he is known for his expertise in interventional endoscopy and minimally invasive treatments for gastrointestinal disease.
